Scholarships and Bursaries

CUTW is committed to providing high quality tertiary education. Through the generous support of TWGHs, numerous scholarships and bursaries are set up to reward students who have achieved excellent academic performance in various disciplines, and / or who have provided outstanding service to the College or the community.

* The College reserves the right to make final decision. In general, reference will be made to students’ academic merits, conduct and family background.

 

A. Entrance Scholarships

 

1. TWGHs Ma Kam Chan Memorial Scholarships (For Current Non-TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Newly admitted AD students with outstanding HKALE achievements

Eligibility: A total of not less than 4 points* in one sitting of HKALE

Amount: HKD2,000 to HKD30,000, depending on the public examination results and the number of qualified applicants

 

*The points for grades A, B, C, D and E of AL subjects in HKALE are 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 respectively. The points for grades A, B, C, D and E of AS subjects in HKALE are 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1 and 0.5 respectively.

 

2. TWGHs Fung King Wai Scholarships (For Current Non-TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Newly admitted AD students with outstanding HKALE achievements and financial difficulties

Eligibility: (a) A total of not less than 4 points* in one sitting of HKALE; AND

                (b) Applicants whose families meet the following criteria:

                     - receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); OR

                     - receiving full grant under the Secondary School Student Financial Assistance Scheme; OR

                     - in financial hardship at the time of application

Amount: HKD10,000 each

 

*The points for grades A, B, C, D and E of AL subjects in HKALE are 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 respectively. The points for grades A, B, C, D and E of AS subjects in HKALE are 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1 and 0.5 respectively.

 

3. TWGHs Lai Charn Scholarships (For Current TWGHs and Non-TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Newly admitted AD students with outstanding HKALE achievements AND/OR financial difficulties.

Eligibility: (a) A total of not less than 4 points* in one sitting of HKALE; AND/OR

                (b) Applicants whose families meet the following criteria:

                     - receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); OR

                     - receiving full grant under the Secondary School Student Financial Assistance Scheme; OR

                     - in financial hardship at the time of application

Amount: HKD20,000 to HKD25,000, depending on family financial status.

4. TWGHs Eddie Wang Scholarships / Bursaries (For Current TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Newly admitted AD students with financial difficulties

Eligibility: Applicants whose families meet the following criteria:

                - receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); OR

                - receiving full grant under the Secondary School Student Financial Assistance Scheme; OR

                - in financial hardship at the time of application

Amount: HKD2,000 to HKD20,000, depending on the public examination results, family financial status and the number of qualified applicants

 

5. TWGHs Entrance Scholarships / Bursaries (For Current TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Newly admitted AD students with outstanding HKALE achievements AND/OR financial difficulties

Eligibility: (a) A total of not less than 4 points* in one sitting of HKALE; AND/OR

                (b) Applicants whose families meet the following criteria:

                     - receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); OR

                     - receiving full grant under the Secondary School Student Financial Assistance Scheme; OR

                     - in financial hardship at the time of application

Amount: HKD20,000 to HKD25,000, depending on family financial status

6. Scholarships For Current Feeder School Graduates

 

Target: Newly admitted AD students who are current graduates of Feeder Schools

Eligibility: Students are being recommended by their school principals for the scholarships

Amount: HKD5,000 each

 

B. Progressing Scholarships

 

1. TWGHs Fung King Wai Scholarships (For Non-TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Outstanding CUTW AD Year 1 students

Eligibility: Obtained a minimum cGPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4-point scale)

Amount: HKD10,000 each

 

2. TWGHs Eddie Wang Scholarships (For TWGHs Graduates)

 

Target: Outstanding CUTW AD Year 1 students

Eligibility: Obtained a minimum cGPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4-point scale)

Amount: HKD5,000 each

 

C. Articulation Scholarships

 

1. Qin Jia Yuan Foundation Scholarships

 

Target: Outstanding CUTW AD graduates who have successfully registered for a degree programme at designated local or overseas universities

Eligibility: Obtained a minimum cGPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4-point scale) in both AD Year 1 and Year 2 studies

Amount: HKD10,000 to HKD20,000, depending on family financial status

 

D. Other Scholarships

 

1. Qin Jia Yuan Foundation Scholarships for CUHK International Summer School (ISS)

 

Target: Outstanding CUTW AD Year 1 students

Eligibility: (a) On the President’s List with Term 1 cGPA at 3.7 or above; AND

               (b) Good proficiency in English

Amount: Over HKD10,000 to cover the tuition fee for a 3-credit course offered by the CUHK ISS, the hostel fee for the entire summer period, the orientation materials, a welcome dinner and a farewell dinner
