Adjustment Programme for Non-Local Students & Buddy Programme

The Adjustment Programme for Non-local Students is offered to help non-local students adjust to college study. The Programme runs for 3 months from mid September to mid December, during which students will be required to attend intensive courses in Cantonese and English to improve their proficiency in both languages. The Programme also composes of a ‘Learning to Learn Workshop’, topics of the workshop will include time management, note-taking skills, academic writing, examination and assignment preparation. The workshop will also cover an overview of the progression opportunities for AD graduates, and non-local alumni will be invited for experience sharing.

Buddy Programme

The Buddy Programme aims to link local experienced students with non-local students to assist them in developing cross-cultural knowledge and conversational skills in order to apply these in social and academic settings. Through group and individual meetings, the local buddies provide support to their non-local counterparts in their new surroundings, help them adjust to Hong Kong culture and offer them friendship. Recreational activities such as BBQ and cycling will be arranged, as well as group meetings.
