Message from TWGHs Chairman

The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals established its first school in 1880. Since then, Tung Wah has been providing quality education by the further establishment of a total of 51 schools - including secondary, primary, kindergartens and special education. In response to the need of the society and in support of the government policy of expanding tertiary education, Tung Wah joined force with The Chinese University of Hong Kong and established the Chinese University of Hong Kong - Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community College (CUTW) in 2005. Currently, the CUTW offers Associate Degree and Pre-Associate Degree programmes for the Secondary 5 and 7 school leavers, providing an effective pathway for further studies and career development.

With programmes benchmarking at the international standard, the qualifications awarded are recognized by local and overseas universities and can be articulated for top-up degree programmes. The first cohort of 308 students graduated in 2007, with 55% continue their study in local or overseas universities. Among them, 28 were admitted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong - a remarkable achievement for the CUTW students.

Committed to the TWGHs' mission of education for all, the CUTW offers a multitude of scholarships for students with outstanding achievements to be enrolled into the College and bursaries for students with financial difficulties to complete their studies.

For graduates who seek employment, the Tung Wah Job Placement Support Scheme has been implemented. By tapping into the extensive network of the TWGHs' Board members, the Scheme has facilitated graduates to secure jobs matching their strengths and ideal.

Students are welcomed to apply to the CUTW programmes. Wishing you all the success in your future studies.

Mr. Ma Ching Hang, Patrick
Chairman
