IT Facilities and Services Support

CUTW provide a wide range of IT facilities to support learning through innovative technologies within and beyond the campus:

A.     IT Resources
i. Network Services
Internet access via wired and/or wireless LAN connection is available within the CUTW campus. With a designated login account, students may connect to the campus network, the CU e-learning portal, email and print services, at fixed service terminals in public service areas or via the wireless LAN.

ii. Computing Equipment
The campus is equipped with desktop and notebook computers for teaching and learning purposes. Access to the Internet is supported with an assigned login account.

iii. Resources on Web

  1. The College website (www.cutw.edu.hk) provides access to College information. In addition, connection to these services is also provided:
  2. The CU Forum facilitates interactions among students and teachers. Course materials and assignments are also delivered through this e-learning portal.
  3. CUTW Webmail allows access to the CUTW mail server.

iv. Technologies for Learning
Selected laboratories and Library are equipped with appropriate IT/AV equipments to support independent and collaborative learning. Briefing session are conducted regularly to orient students in using IT/AV technologies and online services

B.     Information Technology Support Unit (ITSU)
ITSU is an IT team dedicated to provide high quality IT and AV services to students and staff of CUTW. We offer a wide range of IT/AV resources to ensure the learning quality being supported by our staff with the appropriate use of technology

ITSU Hotline services:
For technical enquiry and advice, please contact ITSU technical support via the ITSU hotline 3190-6640 or visit ITSU office at Room 1702, 17/F CUTW main campus. Priority will be given to the use of technologies for learning activities recommended by CUTW teaching staff. The ITSU service hours are shown below:

Monday - Friday                               8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday                                         8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sunday & Public Holidays                  Closed

Term Break
Monday - Friday                               9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday                                         9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Sunday & Public Holidays                  Closed

C.     Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The campus IT facilities are provided by the college and managed by the Information Technology Services Unit (ITSU). The Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) aims to provide a good working environment for the users and it applies to all users using CUTW’s IT facilities including staff, students, temporary workers, authorized visitors, subcontractors and consultants.
